This structure is most legible in religious apocalypticism — ISIS draws explicitly on Salafi-jihadist eschatology centered on end-times battles — but the same architecture organizes secular techno-utopianism. Kurzweil's Singularity narrative holds that ecological and civilizational collapse is simply irrelevant given the proximity of consciousness uploading; the 'elect' are reconstituted as those with sufficient cognitive or economic capital to transmigrate into a silicon substrate. The commercial space race carries identical logic: Hawking and Musk have both framed Earth as a condemned platform, with transplanetary capacity as the only viable escape vector. What shifts across these cases is the metaphysical vocabulary — divine intervention, exponential computation, orbital mechanics — while the soteriological grammar remains constant. Recognizing this isomorphism allows the analyst to identify rapture logic operating inside discourses that present themselves as rigorously empirical or progressive.
